Chief Minister of Delhi Sheila Dikshit on the C40 Summit
Exclusve interview with Shiela Dikshit on the outcome of C40 Large Cities Climate Summit. Leaders of municipal governments and international businesses from over thirty world cities convened in New York City for the second C40 Large Cities Climate Summit. Cities are responsible for three-quarters of the world's energy consumption, and as such, the world's largest cities have a critical role to play in the reduction of carbon emissions and the reversal of dangerous climate change. The sponsors are inviting the mayors of select cities, as well as those cities' chief climate or energy official and a few business leaders, with the expectation of about 250 delegates in total. Throughout the four-day event, delegates share best practices, identify collaborative projects and chart future actions relative to reversing dangerous climate change and realizing economic development benefits.
